83rd Anniversary of the Battle of Crete

Saturday 25 May 2024. The 2/2 were invited to lay a wreath at The Eternal Flame in the forecourt of the Shrine of Remembrance to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Crete. 
This is a significant annual event which has a large attendance of Greek & Cretan family descendants, the Consul General for Greece in Melbourne, together with Senior Representatives of the Hellenic Armed Forces who were visiting from Greece for the occasion, Australian Defence Forces, Veteran Associations and Victoria's Greek Australian Community. 2/2 President Malcolm Fallon represented our Association and laid the wreath on behalf of the association.
Following this commemoration a further ceremony was held  at the Australian Hellenic Memorial in the Domain Gardens.
