“Major Tatchell was Staff Officer RE Grade II H.Q. R.A.A. 2 Aust Corps from April to September 1945 and from 23rd May was also Staff Officer Grade I. His knowledge and devotion to duty contributed greatly to the efficiency of the artillery. Major Tatchell previously served with 6 Div Arty in Middle East and as Battery Commander New Guinea and Bougainville.” – Gazetted Citation.
