Outstanding bravery BRALLOS 21 April and MOURNIES 25 May 1941.
“At Brallos on 21 April 41 during the enemy air machine gunning at road, several men were killed and wounded. As Bty medical orderly, this man went straight out, and despite the continuance of enemy action attended to the wounded. At Mournies, Crete, on the 25th May when the attack was at its height, he continued to do exactly the same thing in attending to the wounded, and afterwards when the R.A.P. was bombed he went, without hesitation, over the open and did the same job there. On each of these occasions his bravery was most outstanding and each occasion would be sufficient warrant for this recommendation.” – Gazetted Citation.
